MBA Dissertation and Thesis Structure

The MBA dissertation and thesis, as any other sort of the dissertation and thesis, has to follow the particular structure.

The MBA dissertation has to contain such parts as:

  • The title page (with such attributes, as the MBA dissertation title, candidate’s name, supervisor’s name, and the submission date);
  • The acknowledgements (dedication or gratitude);
  • The abstract (the summary);
  • The contents (including the parts’ headings and pages’ numbers);
  • The introduction (the topic presentation);
  • The literature review (the background information);
  • The methodology (the research methods);
  • The conclusion (the results of the research);
  • The list of the used sources (the bibliographical information about the additional sources which you have used while doing the background reading).

The structure of the MBA thesis is almost the same. However, there are some differences. The MBA thesis does not have to include such parts as the introduction, the review of the literature, the methodology and the conclusion. Except of it you just have to present the list of the main theses of your research. The rest of the MBA thesis structure coincides with the MBA dissertation structure.

It is necessary to observe such a structure of the MBA dissertation and thesis. Sometimes it is allowed to change something. For example, you may exclude such part as the acknowledgements, since it is optional. Or you may subdivide some of the MBA dissertation parts into sections in order to investigate some points in more details. However, before you will decide to change your MBA dissertation or thesis structure, you had better consult with your supervisor.
